Autism in April

april 2016 autismDuring the month of April we have an amazing opportunity to provide therapy and support for children with autism and their families. Every 2 Facebook check-ins at Courage Fitness Durham provide one minute of autism therapy to a child and their family!

Through Sweat Angels, we’ll be supporting The Autism Site to make all this happen. The Autism Site provides access to incredible play therapy sessions which promote long-term and short-term memory, stimulate language, negotiation and communication skills. It also nourishes the family by relieving stress and forging important emotional bonds.

Take a quick glance at The Autism Site’s Facebook page and blog to see how their therapy makes a difference in the lives of the children and their families:

When you check in on Facebook, make sure to add #autismawareness to your posts. It’s a great way to remind your friends of why you’re checking in!

We can help build cognitive skills for many children with autism next month, so thank you for inspiring our community to check in!

P.S. If you haven’t heard of Sweat Angels, here’s how it works… Sweat Angels makes a donation to a great cause every time our members check-in on Facebook. Thousands of gyms use Sweat Angels, and that’s why they’re able to make such a large impact each month. If you need some help checking in, just ask someone and we’ll show you how!
