Tell us about your sports & fitness background:
I’ve always been a runner. Cross country was my favorite season and the mile was my event. Trail running is still one of my favorite activities.
How did you first get exposed to Strength & Conditioning? Do you remember your first WOD? How did it go?
I was first exposed to Strength & Conditioning at the 2015 east regional games. I don’t remember all the moves for my first WOD, but I remember there were pull-ups The feeling of that first WOD will never leave me- I was so frustrated at my inability to make it through! That didn’t keep me from coming back though.
What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health and fitness since starting Strength & Conditioning? (before/after)
I’m stronger and more focused now. I’m more aware of my body now too.
What impact has Strength & Conditioning had on your life?
Strength & Conditioning has introduced me to so many smart and fun people. My original intent for joining CFD was to meet people since I was very new to Durham. It was one of the best decisions I’ve made since moving here, I now know many people and meet new Strength & Conditioningters everyday!
What is your favorite Strength & Conditioning/CFD moment?
Tough question- I have too many favorite moments. One of my favorites was getting my first strict pull up.
What is your advice for people just getting started or thinking about starting Strength & Conditioning?
